Krista is an expressive arts therapist with over 10 years experience in the non-profit sector. She holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology & Expressive Arts Therapy and specializes in supporting people in healing and personal growth through the arts.

Naturally, this informs her lens as a writer. Krista's writing is oft oriented towards personal development, spirituality, psychology, creativity, alternative therapies, and the beauty of personal narrative. Prior to Suite101, Krista was a contributer for BitchBuzz.com, a global women's lifestyle network based in London, where she wrote an advice column and other assorted topics.

As of late, Krista coordinates a holistic day treatment program for adults recovering from traumatic brain injury. Here, she's honored to facilitate creative writing and poetry therapy groups where the power of the written word, storytelling, and imagery is alive and well. In previous lifetimes, Krista's counseling work has addressed addictions, domestic violence, sexual assault, Alzheimer's disease and other medical issues, at-risk youth, and more.

As a dutiful Gemini, Krista's personal interests are all over the map and occasionally manifest in the form of a written piece. She can be found working on her novel, art-making, reading, gorging on anything paranormal, walking a spiritual path, and otherwise engaging in random shenanigans. Her latest venture is studying acupressure and energy work at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA.
